Our Mission

The SUNY Maritime Parents Association exists for the Students/Cadets.

Since 1952 the Parents Association has been a part of the college scene at Maritime.

While we are visible doing fund raising at all of the major campus events, the first time prospective Student/Cadet Parents meet us is usually at the "Future Student/Cadet Days" where we present the parents an overview of SUNY Maritime. We are available to answer questions in person and now on the WEB.  Please direct questions to parents@sunymaritime.org

Our organization raises money to support student activities, we provide the school and alumni association donations for scholarships,  provide emergency student loans, provide amenities not offered by the college, and operate our secure on-line store where you can shop and support the students while doing so. Some recent activity includes money donated to purchase DVD's for the Summer Sea Term library, Summer Sea Term donations to help offset the price of port excursions, etc.. Every year various student organizations receive funds from us. Each year we strive to provide what we can. We generally fund those organizations which benefit the most students and the college at large.

Support comes in many ways. Our executive board is involved with the administration. We help new MUG parents and civilian parents become acclimated; so you will better understand the Regiment, the INDOC process, the College and what it means to have a Cadet/Student at SUNY Maritime and what can you expect at the end of the road. You will have a chance to meet with parents of Cadets/Students at the school and parents of graduates at any events held on campus.
