Q: How long is Summer Sea Term?
A: Summer Sea Term is 90 days of sail timefor 1st class.      2nd and 3rd class Cadets are approx 45 Days and are flown to or from connecting ports.  However there is a two week period before cruise (Pre-Cruise) where the cadets prep, load, and clean the ship. And a 2 - 4 day period after cruise (Post-Cruise) where the cadets prep the ship for long term mooring. 90 Days is for 1st Class, 2nd and 3rd class cadets have split cruise of approx 45 days , either the first 45 days or the second 45 days.

Q: Should they bring credit cards with them?
A: Yes, they should bring a credit card or debit card. Note, that most foreign ATM's do not link accounts together, so you will not be able to access your savings account by using a debit card.
